Dorzolamide Hydrochloride and Timolol Maleate Ophthalmic Solution is used to reduce elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. The solution is a combination of a topical carbonic anhydrase inhibitor and a topical beta-adrenergic receptor blocking agent. It works by decreasing aqueous humor secretion, which reduces intraocular pressure. The recommended dose is one drop in the affected eye(s) two times daily. The solution is contraindicated in patients with bronchial asthma, severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, sinus bradycardia, second or third degree atrioventricular block, overt cardiac failure, cardiogenic shock, and hypersensitivity to any component of the product.
